FAQ: Q: Can I dye the wig with hair dye? Since the wig is only a human hair blend, hair dye would only dye the human fibres on the wig, resulting in an uneven, messy color. You can, however, dye the entire unit using dyes made for synthetic hair–such as marker dye or ink. The unit can only be dyed darker this way. Q: How much does the lace front wig shed? This wig sheds about as much as normal, naturally straight hair sheds during an average brush through. This is because the unit is a blend of human and synthetic hair. After cutting the lace, strands along the lace line may also shed if you cut too closely. Always brush slowly and hold the hair above where you are brushing to minimize shedding. When flat-ironing her, go slowly and gently. Hot-pulls on the hair can make the wefts more prone to shedding. Q: How is the lace front wig’s tangling? The wig tangles minimally. With long units, tangling will always occur, however this silky unit’s lose curls do not tangle like tight curls do. I found brushing her out once or twice a day should be enough so she does not tangle. Always start brushing from the bottom of the unit and move up. The ends, which are the most susceptible to tangles, can be finger-combed apart during the day in the off-chance the tangles become noticeable. Since it is a blend of human and synthetic hair, it can be worn anywhere from three months to two years. The biggest issue with wigs and age is the ends frizzing, but with 20 of length, you can cut off all frizz and still have a lot of hair to spare. Every month, an upkeep on the ends of 1 – 2 will keep the unit looking fresh and natural much longer. Wigs should also be washed every week, and detangled daily, just like normal hair. Straightening the unit can also reduce tangling and increase lifespan. Q: How do I make a part? The part shown has had no alterations done; the default parting is already very natural and comes with a built-in silk bottom under the lace where the parting is attached. To make the parting even more realistic, hold both sides of the part down and pluck any stray hairs with tweezers. Finally, after laying the wig on your head, apply liquid concealer to the part and set with foundation. A cue-tip dipped in make-up remover can be used to get rid of any excess makeup on the hair.
