FAQ: Q: How much does the lace front wig shed? All human hair blended and synthetic units experience some shedding, however, this unit’s shedding is minimal relative to its length and curl parrtern. When I ran a wire brush through the test unit, about 4 hairs came out. If I brushed the wig properly, starting from the bottom and working my way up, only 2 strands were left in the brush. After cutting the lace, strands along the lace line may also shed if you cut too closely. Always brush slowly and hold the hair above where you are brushing to minimize shedding. When flat-ironing her, go slowly and gently. Hot-pulls on the hair can make it more prone to shedding. Q: How is the lace front wig’s tangling? With long units, tangling is always an issue, however futura fibre is noteworthy in its tangle-resistance. If you run your fingers through her every few hours, she will not knot during the day. That being said, she DOES tangle, but for a 22 curly wig, she holds up rather well. If tangling is an issue, straightening the unit will decrease tangling significantly. The unit can always be recurled later! Q: How long will the lace front wig last? Past clients have worn this wig anywhere from three weeks to two years. Synthetic units usually range from 1 – 6 months, but longer units like this have a much more impressive lifetime. The biggest issue with wigs and age is the ends frizzing, but with 22 of length, you can cut off all frizz and still have a lot of hair to spare. Every month, an upkeep on the ends of 1 – 2 will keep the unit looking fresh and natural much longer. Wigs should also be washed every week, and detangled daily, just like normal hair. Straightening the unit can also reduce tangling and increase lifespan. Q: How do I make a part? To make a part like shown in picture #5, first part the lace and the 2-3 of skin top in your desired direction. Use water or wig-spray to tame any bumping along the sides of the part. Next, hold both sides of the part down and pluck any stray hairs with tweezers. Finally, after laying the wig on your head, apply liquid concealer to the part and set with foundation. A cue-tip dipped in make-up remover can be used to get rid of any excess makeup on the hair. Q: Where do you get your wigs?
